Today we received word from Lisa Porter in the Student Rights/Responsibilities office at ASU that the case regarding Hope Church (formerly Hope Christian Church) has entered a new phase.
The "inquiry" phase has now been completed, which involved the collection of information and evidence to determine potential violations by Hope Church and its subsidary ministries/campus clubs. The new "investigation" phase involves assessing the information given and deciding what will occur. Based on what we've been told, the new phase will proceed as follows:
1) "First notices" will be sent by Student Rights/Responsibilities to Hope Church and its subsidary ministries ("clubs") and they will be called in for meetings with administration.
2) Based on the information we have provided, and will continue to provide, and the information gleaned from Hope Church, SRR will draft a report to provide to a committee formed by the Dean's Office.
3) The Dean's Office will make a ruling based on the information available.
It should be noted that ASU admin is still accepting new testimonials and information concerning Hope Church during this time, from anyone who wishes to offer it, by way of email, phone, or in-person meeting, or some combination thereof. For now, this information will still be given to Lisa Porter and Carla Mahnke from Student Rights/Responsibilities. Here are their email addresses:
